Make A List
Keeping on top of housework can be hard if you are a working parent with children and other commitments. If left to build up, the chores can become a huge and demoralising task requiring a full day’s work just to get back to a reasonable level of cleanliness.
Creating a to-do list is an easy way to keep track of the things you need to do. If the list looks too big and daunting, try splitting it up into daily tasks and weekly tasks.
Make It Fun
There’s no reason to dread cleaning and there are a few simple things you can do to make it more fun. For example, if you have children, let them choose their own cleaning supplies – whether it’s a bright broom or a colourful dustpan they will feel more excited about helping out.
Also, try to work at times that will be the most productive for you. For instance, if you’re best in the morning then work that time-period into your daily schedule.
Make It Fun For Kids
You can make household chores more fun for your children by turning them into a game. This could be something as simple as rolling a dice to see who has to fold the washing or putting away toys. It’s also a great way to get everyone involved and avoid arguments!
Another way to make it more fun is by listening to music. This is a great way to pass the time and it might even motivate you to do your best Freddie Mercury impression whilst cleaning the carpet!
